Tragedy hit in August 2020 when Glory's husband lost his life in an accident in Singapore. The sudden loss left her not only devastated but also the sole caretaker responsible for their three-year-old son. It was a hard time for her, but she was encouraged to keep going by the thought of her child.

Firmly set on fighting ahead, Glory became resolute in sharing the love from her kitchen with everyone in her community. She first started selling a traditional Malaysian dish called "nasi lemak". Glory's version of this dish was first made at home, and it was so popular that she decided to start a business.
However, life had other ideas. She suffered a serious injury to the leg, resulting in surgery that would take at least six months to heal. With pain in her leg, the doctor firmly told Glory to rest. However, she couldn't afford to shut down. She applied every ounce of determination to form "JG Nasi Lemak Corner" at Ming Seng Kopitiam, located at No. 1 Jalan Perkasa 2/18, Taman Tampoi Indah. She stood there daily, attending to the customers with a warm smile, even in pain- a silent tribute to her strength.
