After more than a decade shaping digital commerce and transformation across APAC, Sebastian Tai Jian Haw began to redefine what success meant to him. Beyond corporate achievements, his journey became increasingly centred on people, mentorship, and purpose.
A profound period of personal rebuilding taught Sebastian to look beyond the traditional boardroom definition of success. It became the foundation for a new chapter, one focused on helping others find confidence, direction, and purpose in their own journeys.
In just one year, Sebastian mentored 130 students, founders, and refugee youth, creating spaces where people could rediscover their potential and believe in the value of their stories. The heartfelt messages from his mentees continue to remind him of the lasting impact of simply showing up for others.
His growing community impact soon opened new doors. He was appointed Leadership Fellow at Xiamen University Malaysia’s MBA Centre and Professional Associate in Community of Practice at Universiti Putra Malaysia’s School of Business and Economics.
In 2026, his journey received further recognition when he was named among DMAT Malaysia’s Top 20 Digital Leaders 2026, bringing together two defining aspects of his story: digital leadership and human impact.
Today, Sebastian continues to build beyond titles, using his experience to mentor, inspire, and create opportunities for the next generation.
