Kavi Vitya Kathiravelo: Turning Healing Into a Space for Others

Kavi Vitya Kathiravelo’s journey did not begin in a studio, but in struggle. A BSc Chemistry graduate from Kulim, she was once on a conventional academic path—steady, structured, and expected. But beneath that path, she was navigating intense emotional strain and health challenges, including vertigo, that forced her to pause and listen to her body.

That pause changed everything.

Through that difficult period, she discovered yoga—not just as movement, but as a tool for clarity, healing, and resilience. What began as personal recovery slowly became purpose. Kavi made the courageous decision to leave behind a stable academic career to pursue yoga as a life skill, something deeper than a profession.

That leap led to the creation of Vityalaya Yoga, a unique sanctuary in Kota Kemuning built not just for practice, but for people to reconnect with themselves. At its heart is a dedicated yoga studio, alongside Vitya’s T-Room by Easwari—a hybrid space where individuals can rest, reflect, and simply be.

But her work extends beyond the studio walls.

Kavi actively contributes to wellness education, presenting research on emotional regulation and bringing yoga into schools through specialised programs for children. Her mission is clear—to make emotional awareness and mental well-being accessible from a young age.

Her compassion also reaches beyond people. Despite experiencing a traumatic dog bite that required multiple surgeries, she continues to rescue and care for street animals, choosing empathy over fear.

What defines Kavi’s approach is its honesty. She advocates for a “no pressure, no pretending” philosophy—creating spaces where healing feels human, not intimidating.

Today, Kavi Vitya stands as a quiet force of resilience. Her journey is a reminder that sometimes, the most powerful purpose begins when you stop pushing through—and start listening within.
